I have photos of 11 violations of ORS 810.150 mostly on division neer the school. These violations have been repotred to the city police and city hall. The city police refused to take a report of the violations and city hall refused to fix the violations these facts have been reported to the douglass county sherrif. In general violations of ORS 810.150 are also violations of the americans with disabilities act. Wheelchair users often lack the fine motor control to avoid these drains and often lack the strenght to extricate themselfs from the drains without dismantaling the chair leaving them exposed to traffic. The law is clear once the violations have been reported the insurance company for myrtle creek will refuse to pay a claim in the event of an accident. The people that I have reported to are now liable for any accident claims. Photos will be posted here http://share.ovi.com search ORS 810.150 or myrtle creek. There is some disagreement about who in responsible for the drain on HYW 99 and 4th. The road now called HWY 99 existed before oregon became a state thus it is defined as public land under the united states code title 43 |

Probably better to write to the local paper. More focused audience. The National Association on Disability might also be able to help/advise you. |

Yeah, local paper is your best bet. Write the state government as well. Contact the local t.v. news stations and ask for some air time, or atleast to mention the problem. It will get fixed. Down here in CA we have a news station that will personally get things taken care of on your behalf. |
